About
NAVINAUT is a compact, torch-like assistive device designed by Alien Innovations to enhance mobility for visually impaired individuals. It detects obstacles, including drop-offs and stairs, within a 1-meter range and alerts users through haptic vibrations, ensuring safe navigation. Completely offline and pocket-portable, NAVINAUT offers multi-directional detection and a long battery life of over 100 days on a single charge. The device promotes independence by eliminating the need for traditional walking sticks.
How it works
NAVINAUT works by detecting obstacles within a 1-meter range using advanced sensors. When an obstacle, drop-off, or staircase is identified, the device alerts the user through vibrations, helping them adjust their path to avoid hazards. The user holds the torch-like device and adjusts the angle based on their height to ensure smooth navigation. NAVINAUT operates offline, making it reliable anywhere, and its rechargeable battery provides over 100 days of usage per charge. This compact design promotes independence by offering easy, multi-directional detection without the need for a walking stick.
